Since 1995, he has devoted himself to the studies
of works in mounting from both ancient and modern
times, such as "Annals of Mounting", "Recollections
to the Appreciation and Happiness of a Simpler Life",
"Mounting Art of the Chinese Scripts and Paintings",
"Repairs and Bindings of the Ancient Books",
etc. By acknowledging Mr. Jia Shaoyun as his teacher,
he has learned the traditional mounting techniques
of calligraphy and painting from the Rong Bao Zhai
Curiosity Shop. After the learning, he has mounted
quite a few scripts and paintings by many celebrities
and famous masters. His mounting works are carefully
established, smooth and flexible, elegant and graceful,
developing a style of his own.
By summing
up experiences continuously, Mr. Li compiles teaching
materials and runs classes for instruction. His mounting
achievements have been put on record in "Art
Dictionary of Mounting Styles in Chinese Calligraphy
and Painting". He also shows a special love for
seal cutting. He has won prizes on many occasions
in the exhibitions of calligraphy and painting for
the old people, held both in the country and in Beijing
for his works in calligraphy, painting and seal cutting.
They have been included in such books as "Connoisseurship
of Modern Calligraphers and Painters Challenging the
21st Century", "Dictionary of Calligraphy,
Painting and Seal Cutting by Famous Masters in the
Chinese Communities of the World", "Connoisseurship
of Calligraphy and Painting at the 1st Exhibition
of Calligraphy and Painting for the Old People",
etc. In particular, a set of seal cutting entitled
"Precious Wildlife Animals---Protection of Human
Ecological Environment" were drawn, cut and printed,
and given as a present to Mr. Wang Gang, a renowned
TV host. They were shown on screen in the TV program
No. 260 of "The Toshiba Paradise for the Animals"
series. "The Global Village" supplement
of the China Environment Newspaper published and presented
this group of seal cutting works with an introductory
title of "New Theme of Stone Seal: The World
